Myth #1 – I CAN EAT WHATEVER I WANT BECAUSE I TRAIN A LOT

Yes I admit it… Some time ago I thought that I was able to eat whatever I wanted because I trained a lot, but I WAS WRONG.

The Larisa Paez Nutrition Center had helped me to put an end to this MYTH in which lots of athletes still believe.

The problem begins when you feel free to eat unhealthy food (high in fat such as fast foods and high in sugar such as desserts and pastries) several times a week.

The diet plan of an athlete must be balanced and rich in nutrients to guarantee the right and healthy energy input. In addition, the way we eat plays an important role in ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE, so you will not be able to get the most out of your hard workouts if the other components such as food, rest, massage sessions and so on, are not being met.

An athlete who eats way more calories than the ones burned, has the risk of gaining weight in fat that will bring negative consequences to the physical performance and the results in competitions.

Remember that it is not about prohibiting yourself from culinary pleasures; you simply have to stop eating unhealthy food.

Let us beware Gladiators; let us NOT fall into myths.
