Over the years I have come to know many people who train REALLY HARD, and to be honest I like to consider myself as one of them. However it is interesting to see, that some experienced people still believe in the MYTH that they should not rest a single day because it causes a setback in their physical performance, so they decide not slow down until their body tells them: STOP NOW.

The human body has multiple alerts to warn us when we must take an immediate break from physical activity, such as: we start feeling a lot of fatigue, get constant colds, feel a lot of headache, have joint pain, feel feverish, or generally feel unwell. But is it good to wait until we get these alerts to take a break? The answer is NO.

For example, if we wait until we get a cold to take a break we are not only exposing ourselves to a disease that can turn into a more serious health problem, but we are also putting off our training plans and this will affect my performance.

The recommendation is to take a break at least once a week when it comes to training. When it comes to competitions, the resting time can vary from two to six days depending on the type of physical activity that will be performed at the event.

Gladiators, organize your workouts so you can distribute your trainings according to the intensity and athletic goals. It is permitted to take our body to the limit but without crossing the line of irrationality.
